The Association of CMHCs of Kansas, Inc., and its members, are active members of the National Council of Community Behavioral Health and the National Association of County Behavioral Health Directors.

The National Council is a nonprofit trade association serving the education, advocacy and networking needs of more than 800 community providers of mental health and addiction treatment services.

Since 1970, the National Council has grown to become an important voice in the shaping of federal law, policy, and regulations that govern the behavioral healthcare world.  Whether it is before Congress, the White House or federal agencies, the National Council advocates are speaking up loud and clear on behalf of community-based providers of care and services.

National Association of County Behavioral Health Directors (www.nacbhd.org)

NACBHD is a non-profit membership organization comprised of county/local behavioral health authorities with responsibility for the planning and delivery of mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse services and the state associations that represent their interests.  NACBHD is an affiliate of the National Association of Counties.

The mission of the National Association of County Behavioral Health Directors is to promote excellence in the delivery of county/local behavioral health services. NACBHD is committed to the well being of consumers and families in every community, the care and protection of the most vulnerable populations and strengthening of the public behavioral health system.
